A Newsweek article today talks about the fact that so-called Gen Y-ers are pursuing jobs that fulfill their passions as opposed to just chasing the dollar bill.
The article points out that Gen-Yers are staying in the nest a lot longer than older generations (Gen X and Boomers) and taking jobs that may pay less but give more. The article goes on to suggest this approach is unrealistic and may lead to failure, but is it the approach that’s unrealistic, or our material-driven culture that’s the real thing that needs to be changed? Any article on indigo children will tell you the mission of this generation is to shake things up. Perhaps this is the realness behind what others may view as laziness. Read the article and decide for yourself.
